What is the best Hair Extension method for me?
Having hair extensions fitted is a bespoke service for each individual client; everyone requires different amounts of hair, different lengths, methods and shades in order to achieve the look they desire in the least damaging way.
Firstly, hair extensions are not damaging unless they’re not being looked after properly (not following aftercare guidance and not attending maintenance appointments on time), or they’re not fitted correctly.
One element of fitting extensions correctly is choosing the right method and amount of hair for clients – one size does not fit all!
For example, I would not recommend fitting a 200g weave on a client with very fine hair as:
This would be really visible
The weave would slip down because there wouldn’t be enough natural hair in the beads
It would be too heavy for the hair and possibly cause breakage / Traction alopecia
We require all new clients to come in for a consultation so that we can assess if your natural hair is strong enough for hair extensions and see if you have any breakage/ balding spots. We will then go through some consultation forms discussing allergies, hair history etc.
Once we have this information, we can discuss what it is you’re hoping to achieve with hair extensions, and we can then go through different methods of hair extensions and what would be suitable for your hair type. We currently offer:
Nano Rings
Micro Rings
LA Weave
Tapes
Take a look at our Services page to find out more about each method.
Each client will require a different amount of hair to achieve a ‘half head’ or ‘full head’ – this will be down to the head space you have available to work on and also the thickness and length of your hair. For some, a full head will be 100g… for others it may be 200g.
